- Eye makeup is traditionally viewed as a fashion-driven, crowded category, making differentiation and defensibility hard for investors.
- The original story leaned heavily on product novelty, but underplayed category ownership, scalability, and repeatability.
- Market opportunity was large, but segmentation (India 1, India 2, global expansion) needed clear logic and conversion framing.
- Technology (AI/AR try-on, personalization) existed as ideas, not as a future growth moat.
- Founder strength and salon distribution advantage were not fully leveraged as de-risking signals for investors.

- The approach was about depicting Skynx as a “zero-effort beauty platform” designed for modern, time-constrained women.
- Simplified the narrative around a universal pain point: eye makeup being skill-heavy, messy, and inaccessible for millions of women.
- Structured the opportunity around India-first scale, followed by global relevance, backed by beauty CAGR and category growth data.
- Framed AI/AR not as hype, but as a conversion and LTV engine (virtual try-on, personalized looks, bundled upsells).
- Clarified monetization via high-margin D2C, repeat purchases, bundles, and salon + retail partnerships.
